“Home to Home” is an engaging and intriguing showcase of Marion’s considerable talent as a singer and songwriter. Comprised entirely of original material, “Home to Home” features Marion singing lead and background vocals and playing acoustic guitar, mandolin, and harmonica. A top-notch backup band features Vancouver musicians Ted Tosoff on acoustic and electric guitar, bass, keyboards and drums, with guest appearances by Daniel Ross, Rick Dalgarno, Mike Sanyshyn, and Bryon Tosoff.

The majority of the songs on the CD were inspired by Marion’s relocation from the east coast of the US to the west coast of Canada.

Home to Home
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmonica
Ted Tosoff: acoustic guitar, bass, drums
Mike Sanyshyn: fiddle

Once there was a river
now that river’s dry
Once you were my lover
then you said goodbye
So I’m trying to get my loving
where loving can be found
Everywhere I wander
and everywhere I roam
People are the same from home to home

Cross the mighty ocean
in search of better times
Changing my perspective
to see what I might find
Trying to get some answers
by heading out of town
Everywhere I travel
and everywhere I roam
People are the same from home to home

Trying like the devil
crying like a child
Nothing is for certain
times are running wild
Trying to get some order
where order can be found
Everywhere I go to
and everywhere I roam
People are the same from home to home

Better days a coming
tell you know I know
Instead of going places
I’m gonna stay at home
Get my satisfaction
by staying where I am
Everywhere I wander
and everywhere I roam
Nothing feels as good as being home
Nothing feels as good as being home

Just a Heart
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals, acoustic guitar
Ted Tosoff: acoustic and electric guitar, bass, keyboards, drums
Daniel Ross: electric guitar

This is not a song about a journey
There is no river running through this town
This is not a song that tells the world
that you’re the greatest love I’ve ever found
This is just a song

This is not a night that last forever
It’s not a night for wishing at the stars
This is just a night you say
I love you just the way you are
This is just a night
This is just a night

This is not a heart that knows forgiveness
It’s not a heart that you would recognize
This is just a heart that sees itself
reflected in your crowded eyes
This is just a heart
This is just a heart
This is just a heart

End of the Night
[listen]

(lyrics by Marion Walsh and lloyd Thayer)
Marion Walsh: vocals, mandolin
Ted Tosoff: acoustic and electric guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, percussion

it’s too late to start the day over
you’re too tired to put up a fight
but it’s not the end of the world now
it’s only the end of the night

it’s not the end of the world
it’s not the end of the world
it’s not the end of the world
it’s only the end of the night

you live and relive and recycle
connecting the dots in your mind
swirling like leaves, like wind in the trees
blowing a hole in your life

you watch out the window for someday
giving yourself a good fight
but you can’t hold on if you hold on too tight
it’s only the end of the night

it’s not the end of the world
it’s not the end of the world
it’s not the end of the world
it’s only the end of the night

slow down amid the confusion
let go and watch it go by
and I think that you’ll find that by changing your mind
you’re changing your life

it’s not the end of the world
it’s not the end of the world
it’s not the end of the world
it’s only the end of the night

Tell Me
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmonica
Ted Tosoff: acoustic guitar, keyboards, percussion
Rick Dalgarno: dobro

whatever it is
tell me
waiting another day
ain’t gonna help me
just give it to me straight
and then I’ll go
there’s nothing you could say
that I don’t already know

whatever you need
go on and get it
follow your heart
you won’t regret it
open up and spill it out
the silence in your eyes
is getting way too loud
so tell me

when I lay me down to sleep
I want to know whose love to keep
so kiss me once and pour some wine
and let me know if you’ll be mine
h pou j
whatever you say
I’m ready
my feet are on the ground
and I’m holding steady
if the earth should start to shake
there are many roads that I could take
so tell me
tell me
tell me
tell me

Next to You
(for Gus)
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin
Ted Tosoff: acoustic guitar, bass, drums, keyboards

nothing comes easy
nothing comes free
you gotta pay the price
for who you want to be

don’t have much money
but honey, I don’t mind
cuz I’ve got you beside me
and I know I’m gonna be fine

I don’t know who I am
But I know this much is true
I like the way I feel
when I’m lying next to you

there’s a hole in my sweater
I’m taping up my shoes
don’t have a home to call my own
but honey I’ve got you

I’m waiting at the window
it’s you I wanna see
the moon don’t stand a chance
when you’re coming back home to me

I don’t know who I am
but I know this much is true
I like the way I feel
when I’m lying next to you

my head is like a hurricane
stormy and gray
and it’s blowing my heart, blowing my heart
blowing my heart away

I don’t know who I am
but I know this much is true
I like the way I feel
when I’m lying next to you

nothing comes easy
nothing comes free

BU
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocal, harmonica
Ted Tosoff: 12-string guitar, keyboards, percussion

You’ve got an answer for everything,
but you don’t have any questions.
What kind of life is that?
You got a place for everything
and a plan for every place.
What kind of life is that?

Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BUBU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BUBU

You give your kids everything you think they want
but all they really need is you.
Why can’t you give ‘em that?
Another gift, another gadget, another everybody has it,
but does anybody want it?
You forgot to ask.

Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BUBU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BUBU

I’d give you the world if I could
If I could understand it,
for you I would.
Today I am a mirror,
my eyes reflecting back to you
all that you are, all that you are

Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BUBU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BU
Wouldn’t wanna BUBU

I Believe
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin
Ted Tosoff: acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, percussion
Rick Dalgarno: dobro

I do
I do believe
I do
I do believe
In peace

Peace
Peace on earth
Peace
Praying for peace on earth
Good will to all hearts

All hearts
All hearts are free
All hearts
All hearts are free
Hang my heart on my Christmas tree

Tree
Tree grows in peace
Tree
Tree stands in peace
Christmas tree stands for peace to me

Remember
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin
Ted Tosoff: acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, percussion
Daniel Ross: electric guitar

the rooms in my house
streets of my town
those boxes of dreams
that never got found
your eyes when you laugh
tears when you cry
and I love you more than the stars in the sky
I think that’s what I’ll remember

the start of a day
that you don’t want to end
a sleepy hello
from a far-way friend
the in between places
we never go
I miss you baby, I want you to know

I’ll remember all the small things
you make my little life seem like a big life
I think that’s what I’ll remember

the rain on the roof
how it keeps me awake
all of the chances
I never did take
the things that we say
without making a sound
the way my heart dances when you come to town
I think that’s what I’ll remember

I walked in the night
to the end of the road
sat at the fence post
to see if you’d show
if home is worth leaving
then you’re where I go
I need you baby, I want you to know

I’ll remember all the small ways
you make my little life seem like a big life
I think that’s what I’ll remember
I think that’s what I’ll remember
I think that’s what I’ll remember

Honesty
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals
Ted Tosoff: acoustic and electric guitar, bass, keyboards, drums
Daniel Ross: electric guitar

From time to time,
from day to day,
the things we need the most
we push away.
From here to there,
from you to me,
we hurt the ones we love
eventually.

I don’t know about this honesty
I don’t know about this honesty
but I know I'm gonna treat you honestly

In the name of trust,
do what we must,
we speak the truth,
even though it hurts us.
And in the end,
there's you and me
and the truth is gonna make us
free

I don’t know about this honesty
I don’t know about this honesty
But I know I wanna treat you honestly

Since You Never Asked Me
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica
Ted Tosoff: acoustic guitar, bass
Bryon Tosoff: piano

Well they say the darkest hour
Is right before the dawn
But I know it’s never darker
Than the night before you’re gone
I don’t plan on sleeping
Won’t be turning out the light
And since you never asked me honey
I’ll be staying out all night

Well I know you’re gonna leave me
And I can’t make you stay
No matter what I cook or how I look
You’ll still go away
So I put away my dresses
And I put away all my pots and my pans
And since you never asked me
I’m gonna find me another man

The time has come for dancing
I got my dancing shoes
But you won’t see me crying
Cuz there ain’t no reason for the blues

And someday when I wake up
Your leaving will be done
I’ll be with my baby
And you’ll be the lonely one
I’ll be cooking him some breakfast
And wearing my new clothes
And since you never asked me honey
You won’t ever have to know

Snow Angel
[listen]

Marion Walsh: vocals, acoustic guitar
Ted Tosoff: keyboards
Daniel Ross: electric guitar, e-bow

back home in New England
my feet knew where to go
they took me up the mountain
and they led me through the snow
it was there I left my footprint
there I made my mark
there I took my chances
and there I found my heart

oh the faces
the places that I know
if my feet could take me there
how quickly I would go

but here I cast no shadow
here I leave no trace
here among the mighty trees
I do not have a face
so I made me a snow angel
to keep my company
and take me where I want to go
imaginarily

snow angel
angel that I know
if the wind could carry you
how sweetly it would blow

her wings are extra sturdy
for the journey may be long
and there’s wishes in her halo
and in her heart a song
so if you believe in wishes
and you give it half a chance
come with me to the mountain
and we’ll watch my angel dance

snow angel
angel that I know
if you could use those wings I made you
I wonder where we’d go

oh the places
those faces that I know
if my feet could take me there
how quickly I would go
